Battery Specialists + Golf Cars is the premier source of top golf cars in the Midwest. An Authorized Club Car Distributor and authorized dealer of the top brands including EZGO, we set ourselves apart from other dealers by servicing what we sell.
Beyond golf car sales, service and leasing, we offer batteries for everything, starter and alternator repair and rebuilding, and we are an authorized Power Wheels service center.
We have 4 facilities in Illinois to serve you and a staff of 35 employees, 4 service vehicles, 12 delivery vehicles and 20 trailers.

Company History:
Danny Coker purchased Discount Battery in Taylorville, IL from Rex Curtsinger in 1985 with annual salesof $200,000.
Since then, the following changes have occurred:

1987 ~ Purchased current Taylorville, Illinois location at 800 W. Springfield Rd. Name was changed to Battery Specialists
1992 ~ Purchased Mt. Vernon, Illinois location at 1018 S. 10th St.
1996 ~ Company changed from sole proprietorship to a corporation of Coker Family, Inc. dba Battery Specialists
1997 ~ Company name was change to Battery Specialists + Golf Cars
1999 ~ Purchased Champaign, Illinois location at 133 W. Kenyon Road
2008 ~ Purchased Highland, Illinois location at 3631 George St.
Achievements and Awards:
1999 ~ Company was named Authorized Club Car Golf Distributor for 80 counties in Illinois and a Carry All Utility Dealer Golf Division Locations were added to the Mt. Vernon and Champaign Locations
All locations became Power Wheels Authorized Service Centers
2000 ~ Received Superior Market Penetration Award from Club Car, Inc. Award was achieved in its 1st year as a distributor
2001 ~ Received Superior Market Penetration Award from Club Car, Inc. for 2nd year in a row. This was the first time in Club Car, Inc. history a distributor has received this award consecutively
2005 ~ Taylorville location expanded their location with a new showroom and warehouse
2006 ~ Received 5000 Purchased Units Award from Club Car, Inc.
2009 ~ Received Club Car XRT Dealer of the Year Award
2010 ~ Received 2010 Club Car Distributor of the Year Award. Company becomes LSV (Low Speed Vehicle) Dealer for Club Car
2012 ~ Received 2012 Club Car Consumer Dealer of the Year Award
2014 ~ Received 2014 Black & Gold Distributor Honor by Club Car, Inc. Developed Special Events Program (SEM) and began selling to other golf car dealers
2017 ~ Received 2017 Black & Gold Elite Partner by Club Car, Inc. Only 10% of Club Car distributors are awarded this honor. This is the 1st time awarded as Elite Partner and 2nd time as Black & Gold Partner
2018 ~ Received 2018 Black & Gold Elite Partner by Club Car, Inc. 2nd year in a row. The company became an EZGO Dealer in all locations
2019 ~ Received 2019 Black & Gold Partner by Club Car, Inc.
2020 ~ Achieved over 12.5M in Sales. Received 2020 Black & Gold Partner by Club Car, Inc.
2023~ Received 15,000 Purchased Units Award from Club Car, Inc. The company became a Garia dealer and Club Car CRU dealer.
